I always hate Amazon's book sales, because I always have to search through pages and pages of books to find the good ones.  Yet, I do it time and again.  Maybe you won't have to.

Fiction/Mysteries

+ Every heard of a little movie by the same title? The Godfather @ 4.32
+ The Godfather's Revenge (Hardcover) @ 5.99
+ Against the Day (Hardcover) by Thomas Pynchon @ 7.00.  He's the author of the renowned Gravity's Rainbow.
+ My favorite book of all time: Life of Pi @ 8.99
+ The classic Anthem by Ayn Rand @ 4.32
+ The classic Atlas Shrugged by Ayan Rand @ 8.99
+ This collection of short stories has gotten very good reviews: The Task of This Translator @ 2.60.  It seems the titled story is about a poor college student who takes a job translating for a man who's language he doesn't even speak!
+ A man ahead of his time: Jules Verne's Journey to the Centre of the Earth
+ Didn't they make a movie from this one? Point Blank
+ I read some of these in high school, I think.  The Cat Who Dropped a Bombshell.  They're about a cat who solves mysteries.

+ Supposedly very good, from the author of Guns, Germs and Steel, and the Third Chimpanzee: Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed by Jared Diamond @ 19.77.  All three of those books are must reads if you want some deeper insight into humanity.
+ If you can handle it, Hegemony or Survival: America's Quest for Global Dominance by Noam Chomsky @ 2.60.  Evidently Hugo Chavez likes this one a lot (but like most people on Chomsky, I doubt he's actually read it).
+ Someone I knew liked this one: The Physics of Superheroes @ 5.20.  He's a geek though.

Outdoors & Nature

+ Al Gore's Earth in the Balance @ 3.19.  People seem to like the guy now.

Cooking, Food, and Wine

+ These take about 45 minutes unless you have a su-chef to get stuff ready for you.  Rachael Ray's 30 Minute Meals 2 @ 11.53
